Kelleigh’s Garden

image

This has to be the most creative and colour garden in Marlborough. Mosaic Heaven.

image

image

There’s something relaxing about being here.

image

image

image

There’s nothing quite like a walk in the fresh air surrounded by nature and native birds.

image

I love the colours of the garden shed peaking though the shrubs.

Historic Maori Settlement

It’s another beautiful weekend here in Marlborough New Zealand.

image

Today we ventured out a little further than usual. What we came across is amazing.

In defence of Karaka Point

This is a Maori defensive site, 10-20 metres from the settlement.

Coconut Oil Your New Bff

image

BODY SCRUB AND EXFOLIATOR

image

Mix together 1/2 Cup coconut oil and a handful of epsom salts and a dash of essential oils.

TEETH WHITENER AND BRIGHTNER

image

Mix coconut oil and baking soda together to form a paste.

MAKEUP REMOVER

image

Put some coconut oil on a cotton ball and slide it over your face. You’ll be surprised how the makeup just slides off!

EYE CREAM

image

Dabbing a buy of coconut oil under the eye is one of the best benifits of using coconut oil. It’s gentle enough for even the finest layers of skin, yet has the power to help ease puffiness and knockout fine lines and wrinkles.

CONDITIONER/FRIZZ FIGHTER

image

Soak your hair in coconut oil for deep conditioning before you shower , leaving on for at least a hour beforehand. For frizz, don’t go crazy with it. It’s a excellent choice, but use a tiny amount on troublesome spots.

NAIL STRENGTHENER

image

Massage a dab of coconut oil on your cuticle, right at the base of the nail. Go ahead and throw some oil on the rest of your hands too, to give them a serious moisture boost!

Ooak Fashion and Photography October 2015

October has ended and i thought i would do a recap of all my instagram posts. If this weather is anything to go buy we are going to have a long hot summer.

In My Bag

Today I decided to go where no man has dared to go… The woman’s accessorie that has left men with so many questions. Inside a handbag, my handbag

image

Wallet, Sunglasses and Keys
I take these three items everywhere. I do change between my standard wallet and cellphone wallet case if I am using a clutch for the evening. Living in New Zealand sunglasses are a must for everyone. Even on cloudy days this is a risk of exposure to UV radiation from the sun.

image

Flat shoes, a snack and Tampons
A pair of tidy slip on shoes have come in handy many times for me also a quick snack to calm that grumpy stomach until you have time to stop. Tampons. If you don’t need one, someone else will.

image

Make Up Bag
A hair tie, just incase the one you decide to tie up your locks or your hair tie breaks. Hello Kitty bubblegum body spray smells so yummy. Avon simply pretty cherry lip balm softens your lips and help protect them in the wind. Avon plumping lip conditioner leaves your lips looking full and natural. Strawberry and Banana lip smacker has more pigment to it, good for some quick color.  Avon One Great mascara, does everything a mascara should do and nothing it shouldn’t.

The Vines Village

Marlboroughs Artisan Hub

In Marlboroughs wine country there is a delightful little village 15 minutes away from Blenheim. Full of artisan stores, food and wine.

image

Wine Lilac
The cutest gift shop with New Zealand products and artists. Full of household knicknacks homeware, ceramics, glassware and candles.  And yes it was named after the song ‘Lilac Wine by Jeffrey Buckly’.

image

Gourmet Collection
A great selection of gourmet products from Marlborough and New Zealand. Many of these include oils, sauces, conserves, liqueurs, vinaigrettes and craft beers. Gourmet Collection has their own sauces and dressings produced here in Marlborough. They also stock my favourite… Prenzels Pantry.

image

AFD Store
A quirky shop owned and operated by Interior Designer Alex Fulton. She definitely likes to push the boundaries and it’s paid off! You can’t help but be inspired when you leave.

image

Mihi Merino & The Quilters Barn
In Mihi Merino there is a big selection of merino wool clothing, you are sure to keep warm and stylish all winter.

image

The Quilters Barn offers you all your quilting and sewing needs. Do you want to learn how to sew? Your in luck! They offer sewing classes, it’s never too late to learn.

Old Orchard Cafe
We stopped in for lunch at the Old Orchard Cafe. It has recently been revamped and looks so inviting.

image

The perfect indoor/outdoor feel without the chill of the early spring chill but still being able to enjoy the view of the beautiful lake and water feature. If your lucky the swans will be having a bath. Great food and service.

Whitehaven Cellar Door

image

Feeling happy after our lunch we stepped into Whitehaven to be great by a warm and welcoming local.

image

One of the best wine tastings I have done. I was impressed at how much she new and I got some tasty recommendations for bbqs this summer so I can have the perfect wine with my meal.

image

D’vine Gelato & Confections
I am so glad we stopped into D’vine before we jetted off home.

image

Full of tasty Marlborough Fudge and a small selection of sweets from the UK.

image

I can’t forget the Gelato. I tried Berry, a dairy free option. I can not wait to try them all.

A special mention to Iolite 100% natural food for your skin.

image

A Marlborough company and cruelty free.

Dogs Day Out

Winter is ending and the days are getting longer. More time to explore and have fun. Also… it’s getting
warmer!

image

image

Although it’s not spring yet, the flat decided to venture out to the beach with a picnic lunch and dogs in tow.

image

Not the sunniest of days but the view was just stunning. There are many places secret treasures in New Zealand, hidden caves and tunnels.

image

We are lucky enough to have these practically in our back yard.

Childhood Dream

The weekend been was surreal. I did something that I have dreamed about since I was a kid. Over the past year I have been getting to know my sisters.

image

I traveled down to Christchurch originally meet up with my partner who was away for block course. I have four sister’s but only grew up with one, my older sister vanessa. As far as I can remember we always new we had 3 other sisters but not actually met for various reasons.

image

They all live in Christchurch so I let everyone know I will be down for the weekend. We were all able to work around our schedules and meet up for dinner Saturday night.

image

We all had such a great night finding out things about each other and comparing ourselves to each other. It was so surprising how comfortable we were around each other for some of us had only met a couple of times before.

image

I can not wait to see my sister’s again and for all of us to be together at the same time.
